Tague to Continue Hoops Career at Culver-Stockton College
Scotland County R-I standout Ashley Tague will continue her basketball career at the next level after signing a letter of intent to play hoops at Culver-Stockton College in Canton.
She will join Coach Seth Minter's program that is looking to improve on an injury-plague 6-22 season in 2010-11.
Minter, who led Canton High School to back-to-back final four appearances in the Missouri state playoffs, said he is excited about an excellent recruiting class he believes will help propel the squad to bigger and better things in his second season at the helm.
Ashley was joined by her parents, Eddie and Louella Tague, and older sister, and fellow Lady Tiger alumni Stephanie Richmond and her family as well as SCR-I head coach Jaryt Hunziker at the official signing ceremony hosted by Minter at SCR-I High School last week.
The Tri-Rivers Conference MVP said she is looking forward to working with a fellow Scotland Countian in former Gorin High School star Meleia Niemann, who serves as Minters assistant coach and also heads up the junior varsity program at C-SC.
"I'm a little nervous, since she is from Gorin too, and she has such a special career setting records at both schools," Tague said. "Still I'm looking forward to the opportunity to play for her and coach Minter."
