City Unveils New Website for Utility Customers

Paying your utility bills just got a bit easier for residents of the City of Memphis with the creation of a new municipal website. Customers can visit and register an account.

Once customers have registered an account, the site allows the user to review current bills as well as payment and usage histories and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Customers will need a copy of their bill to locate the service ID as well as the account number in order to establish an online account. The registration process takes only a few minutes.

All payments made on the site are secure and encrypted for the user's protection. Payments can be made with debit cards or credit cards. There is a 3% service fee added to each transaction by the processing provider.

The site was designed by Continental Utility Solutions, Inc., the city's utility billing software provider.

In addition to the bill-pay service, the new website also features a calendar, contact information for all of the city departments as well as conservation tips for water and electricity users. Visitors to the website can review the city's past water quality reports and learn about deposit requirements and how to make a new service request.

Users can also sign up for e-mail updates from the city regarding service outages, rate changes and other news. The site offers links to local news coverage with the ability to expand to include coverage of city council meetings and other municipal happenings.
