Memphis Democrat Calcutta Draws 26 Teams to TRGC
Turnout for tournaments at Timber Ridge Golf Course continued to trend upwards as 26 two-man teams took part in Sunday’s 27-hole calcutta sponsored by the Memphis Democrat.
The two-player teams played nine holes in the morning round to establish three flights for the 18-hole calcutta played in the afternoon.
The team of Holt and Harris tied for first place in both the calcutta and the overall tournament. They shot a 57 in the last 18 holes to score an 86 for the 27-hole tourney score. The team of Turner and Stewart opened with a tourney best 28 on the first nine holes, but shot a 58 in the calcutta to tie for first in the tournament with an 86. They lost out in the calcutta as the team of Blackman and Beville shot a 57 to tie for first. That gave them an 87 overall, good for third place in the tournament.
The team of Mike Frazier and Kyle Lister won a playoff to claim first place in the A flight with a total score of 95. They shot a 32 in the opener and finished up with a score of 63 in the calcutta, which was good for second place in it.
