Tigers Host Summer Football Camp
Scotland County R-I held its annual summer football camp from June 28th through July 1st, in preparation for the upcoming season. The Tigers are coming off a successful 2009 campaign in which the team finished the regular season with a 6-4 record, and a trip to the Missouri Class 1A playoffs. The Junior High Tigers also attended camp during this time.
“We encourage all young men in grades 7-12 to be part of our program,” said Coach Brent Bondurant. “Although football is not easy, it is rewarding in many ways. The hard work and dedication it takes to play will carryover into adult life. High school provides a vast variety of activities and organizations for a young person to be a part of, athletics being one of them. Four years flies by fast, take advantage of the opportunities while you can.”
Any young man planning on participating with the squad this fall should be participating in the summer strength and conditioning program each Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at the high school. Each player must have a current physical. Workout times are at 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. for high school and 8:30 a.m. for junior high.
