Tori Torches Tigers for 30 Points in 58-35 Loss
Canton all-stater Tori Niemann nearly had to throw the breaks on to insure she could celebrate scoring her 2,000 career point at home in Canton in her teamís season finale.
The daughter of former Gorin standout Meleia Musgrove Niemann torched Scotland County for 30 points on Tuesday night in Memphis as the state ranked Tigers dominated SCR-I 58-31. Tori would go on to surpass the milestone at home in Canton on Thursday night against state-ranked South Shelby.
Niemann poured in nine first period points as Canton jumped out to a commanding 18-4 advanatge in the first period to never look back. Ashley Tague made the lone field goal for the Lady Tigers.
The offense never got going in the first half for the home team. Anna Duley knocked down a three pointer and Aimee Dale and Kiley Frazier each had a field goal in the second period as Canton extended the margin to 33-11 at the intermission.

Scotland County started to make some shots in the third period, but the defense could not find that answer against Niemann, who single-handedly matched the SCR-I scoring output in the third period with 10 points. That gave Canton a 45-21 lead.
Duley and Cali Holt connected from behind the arc in the fourth period and Jamie Shaw had a pair of buckets in the paint as Scotland County had its best offensive stretch in the fourth period. But Canton easily held on for the 58-35 victory to improve to 18-5 on the year while SCR-I dropped to 13-9.
Niemann finished with 30 points to lead all scorers. Jesse Logsdon pitched in with 10 points. Scotland County was led in scoring by Duley and Holt each with eight points.
