Dawn A. Caviness, 39, of Keokuk, formerly of Keosauqua died Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Blessing Hospital, Quincy, Illinois. She was born August 2, 1971 in Keosauqua. She grew up in Van Buren County, lived briefly in Arizona, several years in Wayland, MO and recently in Keokuk. She recently retired for health reasons from Steel Castings Co., Keokuk. Surviving are her step-mother, Alice Caviness of Memphis, MO, a daughter, Mindy Roberts of Wayland, MO, two sons, Stephen Caviness of Ft. Dodge and Cody Roberts of Keokuk, a granddaughter, Desirae Mae Collela, five sisters, Tina Edwards of Memphis, MO, Leona Edwards of Edina, MO, Angel Spurgeon (Mark Belknap) of Stockport, Kathryn Curtis (Hank Klingsmith) of Kirksville, MO and Jayne Dabney (Rodney) of Glenwood, MO, a brother, Jerry Caviness of Alexandria, MO a step-sister, a step-brother, nieces, nephews, and her extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, David Caviness and a brother, Lloyd Caviness.

Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m., Monday, August 16, 2010 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with Reverend Jerry Caughron officiating. Cremation will followed the service. Visitation with family present was from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the family or may be left at the funeral home or mailed to P.O. Box 513, Keosauqua, IA 52565.
