Gladys Tague, 89, of Memphis, Missouri passed away at her residence in Kirksville, Missouri on Wednesday morning, May 26, 2010 with her family by her side. The daughter of William Wesley and Alice Menke Savage, she was born on April 18, 1921 near Williamstown, Missouri.
She attended Dare Country School and graduated from La Belle High School in La Belle, Missouri in 1940. On March 14, 1941 she was united in marriage to Floyd Tague in Gorin, Missouri by Rev. Arthur Huff. To this union two children were born, Linda Marilyn and Gurden Alan. They made their home in and near Gorin before they retired and moved to Memphis in 1979.
Surviving relatives include her loving husband of 69 years, Floyd Tague; one daughter, Linda Brown and one son, Gurden Tague and his wife Dana all of Kirksville, MO; five grandchildren, Doug Brown of Memphis, MO, Craig Brown of Kirksville, MO, Lisa Rogers and husband Lance of O’Fallon, MO, Jeff Tague of Queen City, MO and Danielle Lundberg of New York, NY; one granddaughter-in-law, Donna Brown of La Plata, MO; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; two brothers, Lee Savage and his wife Dona of La Belle, MO and Will Savage and his wife Nadine of Warsaw, IL; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy Seguin of Weslaco, Texas, Callie Strandberg of Liberal, KS and Doris Day of Gorin, MO; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a beloved grandson, Kurt Alan Brown on July 6, 2000; and one great-grandson Brandon Scott Rogers at birth.
She accepted Jesus as her Savior at a young age. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Memphis.
The family has suggested memorials to the Gorin Cemetery Association and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, MO 63555.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Memphis with Pastor Dan Hite officiating, Interment followed in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Gorin, Missouri.
Pallbearers were Doug Brown, Craig Brown, Jeff Tague, Lance Rogers, Colby Brown, Zack Brown and Colby Brown.
Musicians were Pam Blaine, organist, and Mike Blaine singing the music selections “He Touched Me”, and “Beyond the Sunset”.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis.
