Hospital Gets New Address, New Logo, New Name
Recently, residents in Scotland County and surrounding communities may have noticed the physical changes taking place at Scotland County Hospital. There are parking lots being moved, entrances that are being temporarily re-located, new driveways being constructed and much more.
Along with the physical changes taking place, the United States Postal Service (USPS) has assigned Scotland County Hospital and Memphis Medical Services a new mailing/physical address. Patrons should now use the assigned addresses. Scotland County Hospital’s assigned address is 450 E Sigler Ave, Memphis, MO 63555-1714. Memphis Medical Services address is 450 E Sigler Ave Ste A, Memphis, MO 63555-1726. According to a letter from the USPS and the City of Memphis, the post office will continue to deliver mail displaying the old address for one year. After 12 months, all mail addressed to the rural route and box number will be returned to the sender. The new addresses are effective immediately.
Furthermore, many may have noticed over the course of the last few months that the hospital has been referred to as Scotland County Hospital, dropping the word ‘Memorial’ in the name. The hospital’s legal name is Scotland County Memorial Hospital District and is now ‘doing business as’ (d.b.a.) Scotland County Hospital. This change is due, in part, to public confusion with other hospitals in the area with the same initials. With this name change, comes a new and updated logo for the hospital, encompassing the new SCH initials in the logo crest.
With all of the physical changes taking place, patrons of the hospital will find adequate way finding signage for new parking lots and entrances. A map of parking lots and entrances will be forthcoming in news releases to the local media. Most of these initial changes will begin the middle of September. If patients or their family members feel uneasy about parking and entrance to the Hospital, please call the Hospital at 660-465-8511 or Memphis Medical Services at 660-465-2828.
Hospital CEO Marcia Dial said, “We know this expansion and remodeling project has an element of excitement as well as challenges. We are here to make these transitions go as smoothly as possible. Hospital employees are prepared to guide patients and visitors to the appropriate areas. We intend to make every effort to make your visit to Scotland County Hospital valuable, while providing the care that is appropriate. We are going to be meeting patient’s needs, regardless of anything else, during this time of transition.”
