Chamber to Unveil New Look for Memphis Bucks
Memphis Bucks have taken on a new look in 2010. What are Memphis Bucks? They are gift certificates that recipients can redeem at any Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce member. Memphis Bucks may be purchased in $10 increments at Community Bank of Memphis, Exchange Bank in Memphis, U.S. Bank in Memphis or Memphis Auto Parts.
The special MACC currency is a favorite prize for many local events, including the majority of the chamber-sponsored programs such as Peanut Day.
The new Memphis Bucks will debut as the prizes for the window decorating contest during the Antique Days celebration. First place in the contest will pay $80 in Memphis Bucks with second earning $60. The third place window decorations will receive $40 in Memphis Bucks.
The MACC currency expires six months from the date issued. All old Memphis Bucks have expired.
“The best thing about Memphis Bucks is you are not limited to just one business,” said MACC secretary Tammy Adams. ”The Chamber has over 50 members throughout the county and any of them would be honored for you to spend your Memphis Bucks with them. Your local businesses donate their time and money in the community. Memphis Bucks is a fun and easy way to surprise someone with a gift. One size fits all and you can also show your appreciation to your local businesses.”
The Chamber business members are involved in many of the functions going on around this community while also helping to produce several special events. The MACC hosts a Valentine’s Day Dance at the Rec-Plex for the kids, and also gives back to the community with a customer appreciation Pancake Day breakfast held annually at the fire station.
Other chamber favorites include Peanut Day, the Halloween Safe Stops, a Christmas lighting contest and the Lighting of the Square.
