Health Department to Host Immunization Clinic
The Scotland County Health Department will host an immunization Clinic on August 12 from 2 p.m.- 5 p.m.
There will be new requirements for the 2010- 2011 school year. Immunizations will be available for students entering kindergarten.
A new state law requires children entering into kindergarten to have 2 doses of varicella (chickenpox vaccine) or must have written documentation stating the month and year that the child has had the disease from a licensed doctor of medicine (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) on file at the school.
Also available will be tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (Tdap) boosters. New state law now requires students entering into 8th grade to have a Tdap booster if they have not had a tetanus, diphtheria (Td) booster in the past 2 years.
Please call the Scotland County Health Department at 465-7275 for an appointment for this immunization clinic or if you have questions about your child’s immunizations.
