Electronics Recycling Service to be Available June 11th
Changing technology has introduced computers, cellular phones, fax machines and much more to most homes. Unfortunately ever-changing technology has insured most homes also have plenty of out-dated technology, as constant improvements and updates leave folks with lots of old technology just lying around the house.
Summit Electronics of Keokuk, IA, is targeting these electronics with a special recycling program that will be in Memphis on June 11th.
Old computer towers and laptops, printers, fax machines, copiers, industrial/commercial electronics, cell phones, radios, cable/satellite components, stoves, car batteries, fans, LCD and CRT monitors, game systems, and much more will be collected for recycling. The Summit Electronics trailer will be available from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the city’s recycling site at the junction of highways 15 and 136.
“All equipment received is inspected and tested,” said Summit Electronics owner Benjamin Mill. “We then use those parts to build computer systems and offer them at a greatly reduced price to make them affordable by all. Most of our refurbished systems go for $100 to $200. We also donate complete systems to benefits and needy families.
Items that cannot be accepted at the recycling day include refrigerators, air conditioners, or microwaves.
