Rotary Club to Award Five $500 College Scholarships
High School seniors have crested the first semester hump and are on the final approach to 2010 graduation day in May. The Scotland County Rotary Club will be giving five Scotland County R-I graduates special parting gifts.
The local Rotarians recently announced that five $500 college scholarships will be awarded to qualifying SCR-I graduates.
To be eligible for the financial support, students must be graduating in 2010 and be enrolled in an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational technical school. Scholarship applicants must maintain at least a C grade average and express an interest to work in a rural community following graduation.
Completed applications must be submitted to the high school counselor by March 31, 2010. Applications are available from counselor Brent Bondurant at SCR-I.
