Community to Host Valentine’s Day Dances
Love will be in the air a day earlier than the traditional Valentine’s Day, at least at a couple local venues that will be hosting special holiday dances the day before Valentine’s Day.
The Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Valentine’s Day Dance at the Scotland County Fitness Center on Saturday, February 13th.
The event will start at 7:00 p.m. and will run until 10:00 p.m. Advance tickets are $3 and can be purchased at Kountry Konnection, US Bank, Community Bank, Bank of Memphis and Exchange Bank of Northeast Missouri. Tickets will be $5 at the door.
Refreshments will be provided by the Chamber. MACC president Chuck Kigar will provide the DJ services and will be giving away prizes throughout the evening donated by chamber members.
All children age 10 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Children between the age of 10 and 16 must be signed in by a parent or guardian with a contact number in case of an emergency. No outside food or beverages will be allowed and no one will be allowed to re-enter the dance if they leave the facility.
The Scotland County Fair Board will host a Valentine’s Day Dance Saturday evening at the Memphis V.F.W from 8:00 p.m. to midnight. The Bruce Poe Band will be performing. Tickets are $5 with proceeds going to support the 2010 Scotland County Fair.
You must be 21 or older to attend the event.
