Heck Puts on Show For Relatives, Scoring 33 Points in Front of Family
Samantha Dianne Heck, daughter of Kenny and Debra Tague Heck of Auxvasse, MO was the center of attention at a recent mini-Tague Reunion held February 11th in the senior high school gymnasiums at Monroe City.
Samantha had 17 relatives gather together to watch her and her North Calloway Lady Thunderbirds varsity basketball team play the Monroe City Lady Panthers. Samantha did not let her family down as she led her team to a 71-53 victory and scored 33 of the 71 points.
Samantha proved to be a consistent foe for the Lady Panthers. Not only did she dominate in the paint with eight buckets, she also showed some skill from beyond the arc as she hit one 3-pointer. She really hurt the Panthers from the charity stripe as she was perfect from the free throw line, hitting 14 for 14.
Family members gathered and shared Valentines cards and gifts prior to Samantha’s game, as well as enjoying a time of visiting together. Those present were her parents, Kenny and Debra, grandparents Garrett Heck and LaVeta Comstock, great-uncle Don Tague, great-aunt Ruth Vansickle, sister and nieces, Tonya, Alexandrea and Karissa Hamlin, uncles Larry Platz and Kenny Clatt, aunts Nancy Platz, Sherrill Clatt, and Donna Bailey, and cousins Mona, Mikenzie and Mikayla Beckley.
Several family members remained in the gym following the game to visit especially with Samantha and take family photos. Samantha is a senior and this game has always been the game closest to her relatives in northeast Missouri, so some have always tried to see her team play in this non-conference game.
