ROBERT A. GREGORY

Robert A. (Bob) Gregory, 78, of Memphis, Missouri passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009, at Leeís Summit Medical Center in Leeís Summit, Missouri.
The son of James Edgar and Bertha Mae Moore Gregory, he was born on May 3, 1931 in Alexandria Missouri. He married Marriam Jones in Keokuk, IA. They had three children, Stephen, David and Laura.
He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict era. Bob worked for Ferrell Gas for more than 30 years and retired from the company. He was a volunteer fireman and served as Fire Chief for several years. He had been active in boy scouts, explorers, American Legion and The Antique Fair Association. He loved restoring his old Farmall tractors and ice fishing. He always could be found at the antique fair building drinking coffee and telling tall tales in the mornings.
He worked countless hours helping with the antique fair and always got the annual parade started on time. He would jump on his purple scooter and ride for miles with the scooter gang.
Surviving relatives include one daughter, Laura Kramer and husband Jeremy of Leeís Summit, Missouri; and a son, David Gregory and wife Cathy of Conway Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Bradley Gregory and wife Holly of Downing, Missouri, Christina Gregory of Grandview, Missouri, Sarina Tschanz and husband Zane of St. Louis, Missouri, David Gregory and wife Melissa of Overland Park, Kansas, Haley Robinson of Leeís Summit, Missouri, Peyton Kramer of Leeís Summit, Missouri; two great Ėgranddaughters, Tagen Tschanz of St. Louis, Missouri and Kennedy Gregory of Downing Missouri; one brother, Hurley Gregory of West Point, Iowa; and one sister, Margaret Peak of Washington, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Babe; his parents; three brothers, John, Dick, and Edgar Dee; one sister, Edna; his son, Stephen; and grandson, Michael.
Memorials are suggested to the Scotland County Cancer Fund and can be left at or mailed to Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 Madison St., Memphis, Missouri, 63555.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. at the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis with interment in the Memphis Cemetery. Pastor Dan Hite officiated the service.
Military Graveside Rites were conducted by the Wallace W. Gillespie V.F.W. Post # 4958 in Memphis.
Pallbearers were from the V.F.W. in Memphis.
Musicians were organist, Connie Courtney and soloist, Lori Fulk.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis.
