GLENN Z. GARMAN (11/23/1978 - 1/6/2009)

Glenn Z. Garman, 30, of rural Scotland County, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at his home after battling cancer for three years. He was born November 23, 1978 in Keosauqua, Iowa to Irvin Z. and Laura Z. Garman. He was a graduate of Jordan School in rural Scotland County. Glenn married Mary Kay Horning on November 23, 2002 and to this union two daughters were born.

He was a farmer and a member of Northview Mennonite Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Kay, of the home, and his two daughters, Christy and Jacinda Garman. He is also survived by his parents, Irvin and Laura Garman of Mt. Sterling, Iowa; six brothers: Marlin (Barbara) Garman, Mt. Sterling, Iowa, Alvin (Rosanna) Garman, Memphis, Missouri, Mervin (Lois) Garman, Mt. Sterling, Iowa, Eugene Garman, Ephrata, Pennsylvania, Vernon (Glenda) Garman, Greentop, Missouri, and Eldon Garman of Memphis, Missouri; four sisters: Rosetta (Paul) Zimmerman, Memphis, Missouri, Joann (Clair) Zimmerman, Tipton, Missouri, Susan Garman, Mt. Sterling, Iowa, and Irene (Curvin) Horning, Rutledge, Missouri, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Garman.

Visitation will open at Hillcrest Reception Center on Thursday, January 8, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with family present to greet friends and relatives. Funeral services will be conducted at the Glenn Garman home on Friday, January 9, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. and following at Northview Mennonite Church Cemetery at 9:30 a.m in rural Scotland County. Burial will be in Northview Cemetery. Officiating at the service will be Abner Oberholtzer, Luke Fox, Nelson Martin, and Charles Zimmerman. Serving as coffin bearers will be Leonard Musser, David Eugene Martin, George Zimmerman, Jr., Lewis Martin, Randy High, Roger Fox, Calvin Good and Sterling Martin. Memorials have been suggested to the family and may be left at or mailed to Memphis Funeral Home, 378 South Market Street, Memphis, Missouri 63555.
