Local Teens Hurt In Car Accident

Two local teens were injured in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday evening in rural Scotland County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Melanie J. Triplett, 16, of Memphis, was eastbound on County Road 564 in a 2005 Ford when the vehicle ran off the roadway and came to rest in a creek.

Triplett and a passenger in the vehicle, Abby B. Clatt, 16, of Rutledge, sustained minor injuries. Both girls were transported by private vehicle to Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

The accident occurred at 9:04 p.m. approximately three miles north of Memphis.

The crash was investigated by the Patrol and the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department.
