Beta Bazaar Planned for December 5th
The 28th annual Christmas Bazaar sponsored by Epsilon Iota Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi of Memphis, MO will be held Saturday, December 5th at the Scotland County High School, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Over 140 tables have been reserved by craft exhibitors from Iowa, Illinois and Missouri. Admission is free.
The sorority will sponsor a food stand all day. Doughnuts and coffee will be available in the morning. Lunch will consist of hot dogs, chilidogs, ham sandwiches, chili, chips, pie, cake, tea, milk, coffee, soft drinks and hot chocolate.
There will be a lot of new exhibitors this year, new items for you to see, come out, do your shopping, eat your lunch and enjoy the day.
Over the years a variety of merchandise has been exhibited and sold and this year is no exception. There will be kettle corn, jewelry, books, cookies, home baked items, candies, wood items, knitted scarves, elk sticks, quilts, table runners, place mats, cloth items, Eco-friendly soy wax candles, button dolls, tin snowmen, rugs, salt rock crystal lamps, scrapbooking items, sweatshirts, clothing, ceramics, Christmas ornaments, wreaths, yard decorations, edible bird houses, wreath creations (made from natural grains, flowers, grasses), doll clothes, vases with button flowers, personalized wood items, Discovery Toys, Tupperware, Princess House (glassware), At Home America (homewares), Jafra Cosmetics, Home Interior, Stanley Home Products, Fuller Brush, Watkins Products, Pampered Chef, Butterfly items and Krispie Crème Donuts.
Proceeds from the bazaar go to community betterment. (4) $300 ($1200) scholarships were given to four seniors: Kaitlin Caldwell, Christina Duzan, Betsey Kittle and Caleb Kittle, ($200) Headstart donation for their wish list, ($100) Scotland County Ministerial Alliance, ($400) for helping families in the community, ($51) Sr. boys breakfast, (3) $77 dictionaries for spelling bee, all school winner was, Emily Ebeling, elementary, Rachel Duzan and second grade, Will Fromm, (our sorority sponsors), ($25) Methodist Church youth group for Relay For Life, ($75) Pizza Art Club for door decorations for Care Center, ($25) Scotland County Care Center for birthday parties, ($100) (SCAPP) Scotland County After Prom Parents, ($100) Santa’s helpers, Oct. donated nonperishable food items for food pantry, ($100) St. John’s Church Community Thanksgiving Dinner, ($25) Alpha Epsilon Sigma for their winter project, ($425) FBLA, FFA and Alpha Epsilon Sigma Sorority and Linda Gray for helping at the bazaar.
The service committee will be delivering spring flowers to several people in the community.
Santa will be present from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for pictures and a babysitting service will be provided again this year by the FBLA, there is a fee charged for these two services. The FBLA will also be available to help exhibitors load and unload.
There will be a ballgame on Friday evening this year, so setup will be after 9:30 p.m. and Saturday morning, doors open at 6:30 a.m.
