Gorin Man Hurt in Crash Near Memphis
A Gorin man suffered moderate injuries in an early morning accident Sunday just north of the Memphis city limits.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Patrick L. McNichols, 22, was southbound on Highway 15 in 1989 Nissan when the car failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle overcorrected, running off the west side of the roadway north of the bridge, traveling down the embankment before it came to rest in the creek on its side. The crash occurred half a mile north of Memphis.
McNichols was transported by Scotland County Ambulance to Scotland County Memorial Hospital. He was then taken by Air Evac helicopter to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department, the ambulance service and the Scotland County Fire and Rescue Department.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 9th.
