The Northeast Missouri Workforce Investment Board (NEMO WIB) recently announced it will be providing a summer employment program that will prepare young Missourians in the Northeast Region for exciting careers in the high-tech, high-paying industries of the 21st century. The program, known as the Next-Generation Jobs Team is being launched statewide.

Next-Generation Jobs Team is a summer employment program that matches youth ages 16 to 24 with paid summer jobs and internships at cutting-edge employers throughout Northeast Missouri. As part of the program, NEMO WIB partner staff will work with the young people to identify career fields of interest and then place them with participating employers.

NEMO WIB director, Mark Fuqua, encourages businesses in health, energy and high tech areas to contact your nearest Missouri Career Center for more information about the Next-Generation Jobs Team.

This is a great opportunity to place qualified young people into jobs that they might never have found on their own. It might spark their interest to continue their training and education into making it their career.

Nate Walker director of the Northeast Missouri Regional Planning Commission indicated his office will also be hosting informational and sign up meetings in Memphis in the near future.
