Day, Hunter Capture Timber Ridge Senior Golf Tourney
The team of Gil Day and Jim Hunter finished eight under par to capture the victory in the annual Timber Ridge Golf Course Seniors Tournament held May 30th in Memphis.
The golfers carded a score of 60 in a two-player scramble format to take the top prize. Gary Young and Laddie Briscoe finished second with a score of 66 followed by Chipper Harris and Bob Schultz with a round of 71.
First place in the A flight went to Red Silvera and Gary Luman with a score of 75. The team of Harry Willitt and Dean Mauck was second with a score of 77 followed by Ron Smock and Donnie Middleton with a 79.
Bob Koch won a prize package from State Farm Insurance and Rose Hardware with the shot closest to the 100-yard stake on hole #1. Gil Day had the longest drive on hole #2 and the second shot closest to the pin on hole #6 to win prizes from Pepsi and Gas & More.
Jim Hunter was closest to the pin on #3 to win a gift from the Catfish Place.
Gary Young was closest to the pin after the second shots on hole #4 and also sank the longest putt on hole #5 to win prizes courtesy of Harris Motor Company and Community Bank of Memphis.
Gary Dial picked up the prize on hole #7 and Chipper Harris made the longest putt on #8 to win prizes donated by J’s Foods. Middleton won a prize courtesy of Keith’s Café on hole #9.
