John Ed Luther Memorial Golf Event Raises Money for Rotary
Thirteen teams outlasted morning rain showers to experience a perfect day for golf at Timber Ridge Golf Course as the Scotland County Rotary Club hosted the second annual John Ed Luther Memorial Golf Tournament.
The charity event raised well over $1,000 for the groups scholarship program while honoring the former associate circuit judge and Rotarian along with many of his family members who were in attendance.
The team of Seth Shumaker, Tom Hensley and Josh Hensley took top honors via a tie-breaker after shooting a round of eight under par 60 over 18 holes. The team of James Parker, Mark Rimer and Rich Looten also shot a 60 to finish second. The team of Bill Alberty, Fred Westhoff, Dan Ballow and Scott Summers earned third place in the championship flight with a score of 62.
