Walter S. “Walt” Freitag, 59, a former resident of Gorin, MO and resident of Elberta, AL, died February 11, 2008, at a local hospital.
Walter graduated from Gorin High School in 1967.
He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he spent 21 years as a mechanic. He traveled and was many places around the world during his Naval career. He retired in 1989 as an AS-I.
He knew no stranger and he could fix anything that was broken.
Mr. Freitag is survived by his wife, Linda Boone Freitag of Brewton, AL; sons, Michael (Rebecca) Freitag of Elberta, AL, James (Michelle) Freitag of Robertsdale, AL, and Chuck Freitag of Foley, AL; brothers, James J. “Jack” Freitag of Navoo, IL, Stanley Freitag of Salina, KS and Robert “Bob” Freitag of Elberta, AL; and two grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services and burial was held February 15, at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola. Funeral arrangements were by Mack Funeral Home, Robertsdale, AL.
