RUTH E. MYERS

Ruth Eilene Myers, 82, passed away December 23, 2007, in Scotland County Memorial Hospital.
She was born the daughter of R.G. and Grace Elizabeth (McCabe) Harris on June 5, 1925, in Luray, Missouri.
Ruth married Roy Thomas Myers, Jr., July 10, 1943 in Dallas, Texas where Tom was stationed in the service. He preceded her in death on July 5, 1986.
To this union six children were born.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who put otherís needs before herself. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Memphis, MO, with permanent seating towards the back of the church. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO. Ruth was a closet artist, excelling in oil and pastel painting and stain glass creations. Her love of beauty extended to her flower beds which boasted of several varieties of flowers with roses being her favorite. ďGrandma RuthĒ was always an honored guest at family meals and other family gatherings. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Eric Myers, brothers-in-law, R.O. Dewitt and Robert Lake, and sisters-in-law, Ann Dewitt and Evelyn Lake.
Mrs. Myers is survived by four sons, Tom (Jean) Myers, David H. (Sarah) Myers, Mark (Carla) McCabe Myers all of Memphis, MO, and Joseph (Emily) Sanford Myers of Overland Park, KS; two daughters, Melinda Ann (Davie) Burrus of Memphis, and Melissa Annette (Keith) Helseth of Corydon, IA; brother Charles (Nancy) Harris; twenty-nine grandchildren, R.T. Myers of Columbia, Christina Myers of Memphis, Curtis (Marie) Ebeling of Memphis, Chad (Angie) Ebeling of New London, IA, Cinda (Troy) Barrett of Baring, MO, Brent (Melissa) Myers of Columbia, Karri (Chris) Feeney, Betsy (Rodney) Mullings of Pleasant Hope, MO, Niki (Matt) Kriete of Columbia, MO, Jeremy Burrus of Costa Mesa, CA, Amanda (Jeff) Pulley of Austin, TX, Justin (Britta) Burrus of Baring, MO, Jacob Burrus of San Diego, CA, John (Chrissy) Myers of Memphis, Daniel (Jessi) Myers of Union, MO, Joel Myers of the US Marine Corps, Tori and Jessica Helseth of Corydon, IA. ; twenty-seven great-grandchildren, Lexie and Griffen Myers, Josh, Emily, Andrew, Matthew Ebeling, Christina, Elizabeth, Rachel, Rebekah Duzan, Kaleb, Zachary, Lydia Ebeling, Mark, Michael, Rachel, Bethany Barrett, David Myers, Abi, Katie, Hannah Feeney, Zoey, Emma Mullings, Jenna, Kaela Kriete, Branton Andriesen, Mason Myers; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services were held December 28th, at the First Baptist Church in Memphis with Pastors Larry Groom and Dan Hite officiating. Emily Myers played the organ while Jeremy Burrus performed How Great Thou Art and Danielle Bair performed Lord of the Dance. Tom Myers, David Myers, Mark Myers, Joe Myers, Dave Burrus, and Keith Helseth served as pallbeares. Brent Myers, John Myers, Daniel Myers, Joel Myers, R.T. Myers, Jeremy Burrus, Justin Burrus, Jacob Burrus. Chad Ebeling, Curtis Ebeling, Chipper Harris, Geoff Harris, Ogden DeWitt, and Brent Lake served as honorary pallbearers. Burial was in the Edinburg Cemetery.
Memorials in memory of Mrs. Myers are suggested to the First Baptist Church and can be left at or mailed to the Gerth Funeral Service, 115 S. Main, Memphis, MO 63555.
