SCR-I Board Offers Teaching, Coaching Contracts at Meeting

As the final two months of the 2007-08 school year wind down, the Scotland County R-I School Board turned its attention to the staff for next year during the boards regular meeting on March 15th.

The board voted 7-0 to offer the following non- tenured teachers employment for the 2008-2009 school year:

Ryan Bergeson, Brad Cerbin, Jennifer Little, Jennifer Cerbin, Emily Frederick, Darbee Wellman, Kim Small, Ivonne Wiegand, Lori Bish, Ryan Anderson, Lynnette Dyer, Jamie Hicks, Heather Whitney, Katy Houston, Ivy Garmon, Matt Reel, T.J. Young, Kevin Gundy, Corey Stott, and Cassandra Whitlock.

The board voted 6-0 to offer Lance Campbell employment for the 2008-2009 school year. Board member Paul Campbell stepped out of the meeting.

The following tenured staff are on a continuing contract, and it is not necessary to vote annually to offer employment to tenured personnel. However, as a courtesy, the board voted 7-0 to approve contracts for:

Sam Berkowitz, Denice Blaine, David Boden, Brent Bondurant, Terri Bulen, Susan Burns, Debbi Caldwell, Marc Colvin, Lisa Denney, Lori Fulk, Gary Hunziker, Mike Hyde, Sheri Kapfer, Leslie Lough, Linda Marlowe, Carol McCabe, Sarah Myers, Marla ODonnell, Tom ODonnell, Nathan Pippert, Dawn Triplett, Sharon Triplett, Angie Wentworth, Julie Wickert and Brooke Wineinger.

The board voted 4-0 to approve the contracts of Marie Alexander, Andrea Brassfield, and Melissa Miller. Stacy Alexander, Scott Brassfield, and Gary Miller stepped out for the vote.

The board also voted 7-0 to rehire the following part-time employees:

Lin Stephenson Testing Coordinator, Mary Couch Drama, and Sharon Veatch Science.

The board voted 7-0 to offer employment for the 08-09 school year to Janie Parton and Patty Ahland as Parents as Teachers instructors.

The board voted 7-0 to offer employment to Jaryt Hunziker as the Health/PE instructor for the 08-09 school year.

To allow coaches to make summer camp plans, the board made the following coaching assignments:

Kim Small, varsity softball; Jaryt Hunziker, assistant varsity softball and varsity girls basketball; Brent Bondurant, varsity football; Ryan Bergeson, varsity boys basketball; Lance Campbell, assistant varsity boys basketball.
