Walker Motors Collision Repair Expands to Add Arts Racemart

A familiar face in the local automotive field has helped insure area race car drivers will continue to have a local source for all of their circle track racing needs.

Arts Racemart opened for business on March 1st at Walker Motors Collision Repair, Inc., at 375 S. Main Street in Memphis. The grand opening featured a special racing shock absorber seminar presented by Mark Bauer of QA 1. More than 50 area race enthusiasts attended the morning class to learn about theory and application for racing shocks. Walker is an authorized shock rebuilder.

After the morning session the guests were treated to complimentary lunch and a number of door prizes were given away.

Owner Brent Walker purchased the former Racemart from Randy Harrison in January. The company has been in business in Memphis since 1977.

The auto body shop has been reorganized to utilize available space at the facility to now include the new race store.

General manager Art Jeffries stated the company will continue to offer a full line of circle track race car parts ranging from sheet metal rivets, helmets and driver suits to rear-end assemblies, racing radiators and all other parts needed on a circle track dirt race car.

The store is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Arts Racemart also will be the supplier for Scotland County Speedway and will be on hand at the track on Saturday night making parts available at the track.
