Indians Hand SCR-I Softball Team First League Loss
Clark County broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fifth inning to hand the Scotland County softball team its first conference loss on September 13th in Kahoka.
SCR-I had jumped on top of the Indians 1-0 in the top of the second inning. Jessica Bair tripled and scored on a base hit by Kirsten Johnston to make it 1-0.
The home team rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the frame. Clark County pulled ahead for good with a run in the bottom of the fifth before adding an insurance run in the team’s final at bat to secure the 3-1 win.
Deidra Dochterman went 2-4 at the plate to lead the SCR-I offense. Bair was 1-3 with a run scored and Johnston went 1-4 with the lone RBI.
Kelly Lister took the loss despite allowing just three hits. She walked seven and struck out four.
SCR-I fell to 1-1 in conference play with the defeat.
Clark County won the junior varsity contest 11-3.
