Couples Tourney Winners Shoot 11 Under Par to Capture Title
A total of 12 teams competed in the annual two-couple golf scramble tournament held at Timber Ridge Golf Course on Sunday, June 3rd.
The team of Mike and Jeanie Drummond, Mark Drummond and Jenny Stone finished in first place with a score of 57, which was 11 under par for the 18-hole event. The team of Chris and Julie Flanagan and Dan and Linda Shirey finished in second place, one stroke off that pace. There was a tie for third place in the championship flight. The team of Bob Courtright, Andrea Dabney, and Chris and Karri Feeney won a tie breaker over the team of Young and White. Both teams finished with scores of 62, six under par.
There was a three-way tie for first place in the A flight. The team of Mike and Kelly Frazier and Robbie and Dawn Miller won the tie breaker to take top honors. The team of Martin and St. Clair took second and the team of Racey, York and Shaw was third.
Linda Shirey picked up a pair of prizes on the course. She made the longest putt of the day on hole #2 and she also had the tee shot closest to the pin on hole number three, missing a hole in one by just six inches. Dan Shirey won the prize on hole number two, with the second shot closest to the pin.
Leslie Clark was closest to the pin on the second shot on hole number 8. Max Eggleston won the prize for the men’s closest to the pin contest on number 3, just 33 inches from the flag. Mike Frazier made the longest putt on hole number six to pick up the final prize of the tournament.
