C-SC Pitchers Sweep Weekly HAAC Honors
Culver-Stockton College pitchers Sara Eggleston and Brandon Daudt have been named the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) and NAIA Region V Softball and Baseball Pitchers of the Week, respectively, for their performances during the week of April 16-22.
For Eggleston, a junior right-hander from Memphis, (Scotland County R-I High School), the HAAC honor marks the second straight week she has been honored by the league.
Eggleston started eight of the Lady Wildcats’ 10 games last week, going 6-0 with a 1.04 earned run average and three shutouts. She allowed 26 hits, walked five and struck out 35 in 47 innings of work during the week.
Meanwhile, Daudt, a junior from San Dimas, Calif. (Citrus JC), pitched a complete-game in a 2-0 shutout over Eastern Division leader Missouri Valley College on April 17. He scattered four hits, walked three and struck out a season-high 11 batters. He also appeared in one inning of relief during the week, pitching one inning and allowing one hit while striking out two against Evangel University on April 21.
The C-SC softball team was 22-20 overall and scheduled to play in the HAAC Tournament April 27-28, in Springfield. The Lady Wildcats played Avila University in the first round.
The C-SC baseball team concluded its regular season April 28-29, with a four-game series at Lindenwood University in St. Charles. The Wildcats sport a 26-19 overall record and a 15-9 mark in the HAAC.
