Little League Plans Have Players Dreaming of Summer
With temperatures dipping below zero, plenty of folks are dreaming about summer. One group in particular is already making plans for their favorite time of year.
The Scotland County Little League Association (SCLLA) is gearing up for the annual registration period. Applications will be available beginning February 10 from any SCLLA board member.
The group will hold its first registration day on Saturday, February 17 at the Memphis Fire Station. Parents will be able to sign-up players from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00p.m.
Two additional registration days will be held Saturday, March 3 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and on Friday, March 23rd from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The final day to register for little league play will be March 30th. No late sign ups will be allowed and parents are reminded they are not allowed to request placement on teams or request specific coaches.
Board members for 2007 are Lori Rader, president; Mike Campbell, vice president; Curtis Ebeling, secretary; Michella Hull, treasurer; and members Rich Rader, Ellen Clark, Kelly Cooley, Jarrod Blessing, Matt Buford, Ken Hull, Kristen Hyde and Marie Ebeling.
The group is once again seeking interested groups and individuals to work with the summer league. Anyone interested in working in the concession stands can contact board members Ellen Clark (465-7545) or Michella Hull (465-2918). Individuals interested in the job of field preparation can contact board members Kelly Cooley (465-7279) or Jarrod Blessing (465-7184).
