Wayne Grinstead Adams, 84, of Keokuk, IA, died at River Hills Nursing Home on October 4, 2007.

Wayne was born on September 23, 1923, in Wyaconda, MO, the son of Ira and Beulah Grinstead Adams.

He graduated from the Granger High School with the class of 1942.

He married Carlene Richardson on November 12, 1944, in Keokuk, IA. She survives.

Wayne worked for Memphis Pepsi bottling company for 40 years and served as vice president and managed the Keokuk Pepsi branch when he retired. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a past member of the Lions, Jaycees, active in the Puckeshetuck District Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Iowa and Missouri Bottlers Associations.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene Adams of Keokuk, IA; three sons, Donald W. Adams and his wife, Debbie of Keokuk, IA, Jon D. Adams and his wife, Debby of Cedar Rapids, IA, David L. Adams and his wife, Sandy of Lexington, KY; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Twila Fulk of Memphis, MO; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Alice Lee Smith.

Funeral services were held October 10, 2007, at Dejong’s Funeral Home in Keokuk, IA. Words of comfort were given by nephew, Joe Fulk. The obituary was read by his grandson, Dan Adams and the 23rd Psalm was read by nephew, Tom Richardson. His son, Jon Adams and niece, Jane Fulk Upton gave the eulogies. Joe and Lori Fulk were vocalists with Ann Luther, organist. Memorials were to the Alzheimer’s Association or Boy Scouts of America.
