Avalee Eiffert Carter (formerly Lee DePetris), 81, of Dallas, TX, formerly of Schuyler County, MO, passed away May 8, 2007, in Dallas.

She was born on April 3, 1926, in Schuyler County, MO, to Omer and Ruby Eiffert.

She was an only child.

She was a devoted teacher and successful real estate investor, holding both a Bachelorís and Masterís degree in education. Her proudest personal achievements were the births of her three sons. He proudest career accomplishments were her thirty years teaching at The Alexander School where she made a lasting impact and impression on the numerous students under her tutelage. Her proudest civic accomplishments were her Certificate of Excellence from the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce, political involvements with the Republican Party over the years, and her lifetime membership in the PTA.

She was one of Godís angels here on earth and has now gone home. She reached for life rather than letting it pass her by. She has been an example for all of us to live by and we will miss her very much.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Albert B. Carter.

Survivors include three sons: Joe DePetris, Jr. and wife Gloria, Richard DePetris and wife Gaye, and son, James DePetris; five grandchildren: and six great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held on May 13, 2007, at 3 p.m. in the Coffey Cemetery south of Downing, MO with interment following.
