MARVIN L. GOUCHER

Marvin Laverne ďPatĒ Goucher, age 83, of Edina, Missouri, passed away March 30, 2007, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
He was born March 25, 1924, at Connellsville, Missouri the son of George Thorten and Inez Wilson Goucher.
On March 19, 1950, he was united in marriage to Hazel May Johnson in Fulton County Arkansas and she preceded him in death on January 22, 2007.
Also preceding him in death were his parents, one son Terry Laverne Goucher, three brothers, Kelsey, Eldon ďMikeĒ, and Bobby Lee Goucher, one sister, Maggie Gates, and one grandson Kyle Peterson.
Surviving are six sons; Melvin Paris and wife Charlotte of Loves Park, Illinois, Kenny Douglas and wife Mitzie of Des Moines, Iowa, Ronnie Douglas and wife Linda of Kirksville, Missouri, Norman Goucher and wife Marsha of Memphis, Missouri, Tim Goucher and wife Marlene of Novinger, Missouri, and Darrell Goucher of Edina, Missouri, eleven grandchildren, Brent Paris, Dianna Anderson, Connie Mendenhall, Lisa K. Bunch, Jared Douglas, Patrick Goucher, Jennifer Wheeler, Tina Mason, Sharon Moring, Renee Schrage and Kristi Whitt, 23 great grandchildren, one sister, Oletha Lawson of Queen City, Missouri, three sisters-in-law, Norma Lou Goucher of Novinger, Missouri, Sue Goucher of San Antonio, Texas, and Geneva Goucher of Excelsior Springs, MO, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pat was raised in the Novinger area where he received his education. He served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946 receiving four bronze stars for the campaigns in Ardennes, France, Central Europe and Rhineland and a good conduct medal.
Pat was employed at the MFA Exchange in Novinger, Missouri for several years and later the Missouri Midland Gas Company in Kirksville. In 1955 he moved to Edina where he started the Missouri Midland Gas Company, which he operated until his retirement in 1986.
Pat was a member of the Knox County Memorial Post # 4822 V.F.W. He enjoyed bird hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends especially his grandchildren.
Graveside services with full military honors were held April 3, 2007, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri. Casket bearers were his sons.
