LELAND GLEN FEHR

Leland Glen Fehr, 87, of Fort Madison, IA, died March 23, 2007, at Fort Madison Health Center, Ft. Madison, IA.
He was born in Scotland County, MO, on April 23, 1919, the son of Carl William and Gertie Hudson Fehr.
He married Gladys B. Dowell on June 1, 1946, in Fort Madison, IA. She died February 10, 2002.
He was a graduate of Gorin, MO, High School and attended Columbia, MO University, Southeastern Community College and Mesa, AZ, Community College. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years. He retired from Union Electric with 34 years service. Following his retirement in 1981 he and Gladys spent 18 years in Arizona, where he performed as a magician and clown entertaining residents at resort parks, nursing homes, hospitals and for youth organizations.
He was a member of Santa Fe United Methodist Church holding several offices in the church, he was a past master and 55-year member of Claypoole Masonic Lodge #13 A.F. & A.M.; Kaaba Shrine in Davenport, IA; Moble Nobles of Mesa, AZ; Elks Club in Apache Junction, AZ; A.A.R.P. Daaport Club.
He was an expert Silversmith making lots of jewelry.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Graveside services were March 26, 2007, at Soldiers’ Circle, Oakland Cemetery. Military graveside rites were performed by Ft. Madison Veterans Honor Guard at the cemetery. Rev. Bill Willis and Rev. W. Michael Biklen officiated the service. He was buried at Soldiers’ Circle, Oakland Cemetery.
