BETTY JO RIDGWAY

Betty Jo Ridgway, 78, of Lancaster, MO, passed away at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO, on March 10, 2007.
The daughter of William Harrison and Harriet Leona (Gilbert) Dixon, she was born on February 26, 1929, in Chattanooga, TN.
Survivors include her son, Larry Dixon and wife, Cindy of Lancaster, three grandchildren, William Dixon and wife, Ann of Memphis, MO, Joseph Dixon and wife, Darla of Lancaster, MO, and Sarah Schmitzer and husband, Kenneth of Michigan; six great-grandchildren and one niece, Carol Spence and husband, Ronald of Chickamauga, GA.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Roy Dixon and James Grayson; and one sister, Catherine Cross.
Betty was a member of the Lookout Missionary Baptist Church in High Point, GA. She was also a member of the Schuyler County Historical Society and the Lancaster Garden Club.
Betty moved to Lancaster, MO approximately three years ago and enjoyed being with her son, grandchildren and their families.
Funeral services were held at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO, on March 13, 2007, with Father William Kottenstette officiating. Music was provided by organist Maureen Watkins. Pallbearers were Timothy Ernst, Brad Ebert, Kenneth Schmitzer, Gene Miller, Ben Ebert, and Dean Dittmer. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Nutrition Site and OATS Bus. Burial was in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, MO. Arrangements were under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, MO.
