Evelyn Irene Jackson, daughter of William Nelson and Anna (Wright) Snodgrass was born April 18, 1930, at Energy in Scotland County, MO, and died January 29, 2007, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO. She was 76 years of age.

She was married to Roscoe Leroy Jackson on April 17, 1949, in Memphis, MO. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2000. To this union four children were born.

Surviving are her children, Orville Jackson and wife, Linda of Strafford, MO, Donald Jackson and wife, Robin of Downing, MO, and Janice Shaw and her husband, Wade of Glenwood, MO, and Kyle Jackson and his wife, Shane of Miller, MO; grandchildren, are Nancy White and her husband, Ryan of Walnut Grove, MO, Carrie Smith and her husband, Leonard of Brighton, MO, Kayln Jackson and his wife, Ashley of Rogersville, MO, Levi Jackson of Madill, OK, Curtis Jackson of Stafford, MO, Ronald and Kade Jackson of Downing, MO, Kala Miller and husband, Eric of Maryville, MO, Riley, Kara and Kalee Jackson of Downing, MO, Richard, Derek and Linden Shaw of Glenwood, MO, and Austin, Ellen and Addisen Jackson of Miller, MO; great-grandchildren are Aiden Swiers of Walnut Grove, MO, Wyatt, Garrett, Colt and Gage Smith of Brighton, MO, Leah Jackson of Rogersville, MO, and Tenlee Shaw of Glenwood, MO.

She is also survived by one brother, Junior Snodgrass and wife, Norma of Memphis, MO and one sister, Delma Mallett of Troy, MO; three sisters-in-law, Vada Jackson of Lancaster, MO, Hennrieta Palmer of Stronghurst, IL, Faye Jackson of Downing, MO, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Mrs. Jackson attended Northeast Missouri Teachers College in Kirksville, MO. She then taught at Loe country school for two years. She then spent 42 years helping her husband on their Grade A dairy farm until 1993 when they retired and moved to Queen City, MO. For 11 years she was a nurse’s aide at Schuyler County Nursing Home. She was a 4-H leader and Sunday School teacher for many years. She was member of the Coffey Christian Church.

Funeral services were held at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO on February 1, 2007, with Reverend Melvin Williams. Pastor of the Berean Church assisted by Reverend Harold Marshall officiating. Music was provided by organist, Janice Williams and soloists, Pauline Peterson and Linda Jackson. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Kayln Jackson, Levi Jackson, Ronald Jackson, Kade Jackson, Richard Shaw and Derek Shaw. Honorary pallbearers were Curtis Jackson, Austin Jackson, and Riley Jackson. Memorials have been established for the Coffey Cemetery. Burial was in the Coffey Cemetery, south of Downing, MO. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, MO.
