David James Davis, Jr., age 39, of Kahoka, MO, died January 19, 2007, at the scene of an automobile accident near Alexandria, MO.

He was born February 2, 1967, at Iowa City, IA, a son of David James and Margaret Holmes Davis.

He married Wendy Baldwin on July 3, 1999 in Memphis, MO.

Survivors include his wife, Wendy L. Davis of Kahoka, MO; three children: Andrew James, Nathaniel Joel and Kaylee Ann Davis, all of the home; his parents, David and Margaret Davis, Sr. of Gorin, MO; his grandmother, Beatrice Owens of Memphis, MO; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rodney and Vicky Baldwin of Memphis, MO; three brothers, John and Teresa Harper of Gorin, MO, Dwight and Margaret Harper of Palmyra, MO, and Billy and Andrea Davis of Gorin, MO; two brothers-in-law, Mike and Janelle Baldwin and Gary Baldwin of Clarinda, IA; nieces and nephews: Joshua and Rebecca Harper of Gorin, MO, Mary Harper of Camdenton, MO, Crystal Pashia and her husband, Lawrence, of Potosi, MO, David Harper of Palmyra, MO, Kyle and Lydia Davis of Gorin, MO; and, Rodney, Owen and Naomi Baldwin of Clarinda, IA; a great-nephew, Isiah Marple of Palmyra, MO; aunts and uncles, including, Jerry Jones of Gorin, MO, Mary and Ed Hicks of Wyaconda, MO, and Helen England of Davenport, IA; as well as numerous cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Calvin Owens, Alberta Elizabeth Heinze and Lawrence Davis; and a nephew, Phillip Harper.

David was raised in Gorin where he attended grade school, graduating from Memphis High School. He and Wendy and the children had moved to Kahoka in 2004. He was employed at Steel Castings in Keokuk for the past 17 years and was a member of the United Steelworkers of America.

He and the family were faithful members of Trinity Worship Center in Kahoka. Family was everything to David and he worked hard to better himself to provide for his wife and children. He also remained in constant touch with his parents and extended family, talking to them daily on the phone. One of the things he enjoyed most was spending time with his entire family at Lost Valley Resort in Owensville, MO. He always had a project of some kind going, but always had time for his children. They were his greatest joy.

Funeral services were held January 22, 2007 at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka with Pastor Rich Burrell officiating.

Pallbearers were Dwight Harper, Billy Davis, Joshua Harper, David Harper, John Jordan and Ed McVeigh.

Burial was in the Gorin Community Cemetery.

Memorials in lieu of flowers were suggested to Wendy and the children.
