American Cancer Society to Host Patient Information Day at J’s Foods
The American Cancer Society will host a patient information day at J’s Foods on December 10th to familiarize cancer patients, survivors, families, and all community members about the work they do, including free programs and services, education, and advocacy efforts.
“We’re setting up shop at J’s Foods for the day to meet people close to home,” said Dana Blasé, community manager of health initiatives for the American Cancer Society. “It’s a chance for us to reach out to more people and educate both the cancer patients and their families about the program and services that are available to them through the American Cancer Society.”
During the patient information day American Cancer Society staff Dana Blasé and Brenda Carlin will be on hand to provide services such as free wigs, turbans, and nutritional supplements. Patients can sign up for transportation assistance and learn about online and area cancer support groups, free lodging in the St. Louis area, and other American Cancer Society programs and services. Cancer information will also be available, including information on treatment options, side effects, pain management, and nutrition.
The American Cancer Society’s patient information day will be from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 10th. For additional information, call the American Cancer Society office in Hannibal at 800-684-2733. For cancer information 24 hours a day, call the Society toll-free at 1-800-227-2345 or visit www.cancer.org.
