County Clerk to Perform Voter Canvass
The Scotland County Clerk’s office is beginning a county-wide canvass of registered voters as required by RSMo 115.163. Each registered voter will receive a voter notification card via mail. If the information on the card is correct, no action is required of the voter. If the information on the card is incorrect, the voter needs to contact the County Clerk’s office at (660) 465-7027.
To be eligible to vote, residents must present one of the following forms of identification when present at the polling place:
An ID issued by the state of Missouri including a state agency, a local election authority of Missouri, the US Government, or an institution of higher education of Missouri;
A copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document with your name and address;
A driver’s license or state identification card issued by another state;
Or an affidavit signed by you and two supervising election judges, one from each major political party, stating the election judges personally know you.
Upcoming 2008 election dates include the presidential primary February 5th; general municipal election April 8th; primary election August 5th; and general election November 4th.
