Local Internet Video May Help Hospital Win New MRI

Scotland County Memorial Hospital has gone Hollywood. The local medical facility served as the location for a local video shoot, complete with SCMH employees playing all of the roles. The performance may not win any Oscars, but if enough viewers vote for the short video, entitled ďMRI PricelessĒ, it may earn the hospital a new MRI machine.

Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. is sponsoring the contest in conjunction with the release of the companyís new 1.5T MAGNETOM magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system. The national competition is open to any acute care community hospital with 180 or fewer staffed, licensed beds that does not offer MRI service through fixed MRI installed within the hospital building or satellite facility owned by the hospital.

Entrants must submit a short video (no more than 2 minutes long) that describes how owning and oper-ating an MRI will benefit the health and well being of the patients it serves.

The videos are posted at a web site managed by Elite Marketing Communications.

One hospital in America will win a free MAGNETOM Essenza, an all-new 1.5T MRI. This powerful diagnostic tool can help improve the quality of care for friends, families, and neighbors in your community. Readers are being asked to view the videos and vote for the hospital who has the most compelling argument for why they should win.

Entries began on October 4th and will be accepted until November 30th. Viewers may vote once daily for the top video until December 31st.

The SCMH video currently has received nearly 100 votes and has been viewed more than 500 times.

The winner of the contest will receive the new MRI system at no cost to be shipped to and installed on winning entrantís premises within 6 months following the declaration of the winner of the contest.
