Gorin R-III School Earns MDC Grant
The Gorin R-III School District was recently awarded the Learning Outdoors School Grant from the Missouri Department of Conservation. The purpose of the Learning Outdoors School Grant is to promote conservation education through instructional units that meet grade-level expectations and encourage hands-on outdoor learning experiences. Each unit is designed to increase student understanding and appreciation of our natural resources and our role in conserving them.
The Learning Outdoors School Grant will provide staff and students at Gorin R-III with instructional units on aquatic ecosystems, which include student and teacher guides that feature activities suitable for classroom and outdoor learning, and which meet grade-level expectations. Teacher training for the aquatic ecosystems unit is also provided. Grant funding will also pay for fishing equipment, additional instructional resources, equipment for aquatic studies, and field experience costs.
