Artwork Silent Auction to Benefit FFA Alumni

by Megan Westhoff

In an effort to raise funds to promote the activities of the Memphis FFA Chapter, the Memphis FFA Alumni will be offering, by silent auction, a limited edition print entitled Love of Country, by Artist Harold Anderson. The 18" by 24" archival print is numbered and carries with it a letter of authenticity.

This museum quality reproduction is part of the National FFAs Calendar Art Collection that graced FFA calendars from the 1950s through the mid 80s. Created by leading illustrators and artists of the day, the paintings commissioned for FFA calendars have been individually reproduced from the original works of art by the same process used by leading museums.

Framed and matted, the complete offering measures 27" by 30". Framing and matting was donated by Aaron Dannenhaur.

The print will be on display and available for bidding September 24th through the 30th at the Memphis Democrat office; October 1st through the 7th at the Community Bank of Memphis; with a brief showing October 5th at the main entrance to the Scotland County Homecoming game; and October 8th through the 18th at Rose Hardware.

Final chances to bid will be at the October 18th Memphis FFA Greenhand Banquet where the successful bidder will be announced at the close of that evenings activities.

To bid on this piece write your name and the amount you wish to bid on the bid sheets that will be displayed with the print. You may raise your bid at any time, as many times as you like. Watch for further announcements and reminders in the Memphis Democrat.
