Golf Course Planning More Improvements
The weather has turned people’s attention to golfing, but Mother Nature has raised some additional concerns for Timber Ridge Golf Course.
At the May 7th board of directors meeting, the country club announced plans for a new roof for the clubhouse. The facility has two leaks in the existing roof. Boosters have joined together to install new carpet at the facility and make other facelifts. A local donor also made it possible for a new heating and cooling system at the clubhouse.
But the raining spring has made a new roof the new number one priority. The cost of the project is estimated at $6,500. The board hopes to raise a portion of the funds by asking members for donations of $80.
A golf ball bingo fundraiser has also been announced. Chances will be sold for $20. For more information contact Bob Shultz.
Planned improvements are not limited to the clubhouse. The golf course will host a workday on May 19 beginning at 8:00 a.m. Members are asked to bring their chain saws, trailers, rakes and paintbrushes to help spruce up the course. Plans are to paint the buildings, clean out the cart sheds, cut and remove brush and make other upgrades.
