Gorin R-III School Carnival Set For Friday

The Gorin R-III School District will sponsor its annual school carnival on Friday, April 13th. The eveningís events begin at 5:00 p.m. with the food stand opening. A variety of sandwiches and pies will be available in the school lunchroom.

Activities in the gym begin at 5:30 p.m. The gym will have a large selection of games. The cakewalk and auction items will be on the stage. At 7:30 p.m. the raffle items will be drawn for. The coronation of the king and queen and prince and princess will be at 7:45 p.m. Candidates include 7th and 8th graders John Sears and Star Miller; 5th and 6th graders Michael Yarbrough and MaKayla Ross; 3rd and 4th graders Micheal Miller and Keysha Orton; 1st and 2nd graders Ryan Miller and Barbara Berry; and pre-kindergarten and kindergarteners Kyle Davis and Erica Yarbrough.

Following the coronation will be the auction. Auctioneer Jake Bair will auction items ranging from tickets to the Burlington Bees game, tickets to Silver Dollar City in Branson, Wal-Mart gift cards, Jís Food gift cards, as well as numerous other items collected from area businesses in Gorin, Memphis, Kahoka, Wyaconda, Fairmont and Kirksville.
