Warrant Service Uncovers Meth Lab at Memphis Home
An effort to serve an outstanding warrant at a Memphis residence netted local law enforcement officers a much bigger fish.
A Scotland County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to serve an arrest warrant for a Jason T. Clair at 426 N. Cecil Street on March 14th.
Clair reportedly fled the scene, leaving behind an operational methamphetamine lab.
Officers from the sheriff’s department, the North Missouri Drug Task Force, the Memphis Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, executed a search warrant at the residence at 11:30 p.m. on March 14th at which time numerous items used in the manufacture of the illegal drug were confiscated.
During the course of the investigation Dakota M. Clair was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Adair County.
Additional arrests are pending.
Clair remained at large until March 18th when he was taken into custody in Kirksville by the Kirksville Police Department. He is being housed in the Adair County Jail awaiting extradition to Scotland County.
