Schuyler County Rallies To Beat Lady Tigers 4-2

After jumping out to a 2-0 advantage the Scotland County bats went silent over the final three innings at Queen City on September 5th. That allowed the host Schuyler County Rams to rally for a 3-2 victory.

SCR-I took an early lead in the teams first at bat. With two outs Deidra Dochterman walked and came all the way around to score with the benefit of a hit. The Rams starter Alysa Greenstreet walked three batters in the first inning, but SCR-I was unable to take advantage of her early wildness.

The Lady Tigers struck again in the fourth inning. With two outs Valerie Oldham singled. She scored on a double by designated hitter Kaela Cook.

Schuyler County cut into the advantage in the bottom of the fourth inning when they finally got to starter Karra Small with back-to-back hits to start the frame and put the Rams first run on the scoreboard.

The Rams put the game away in the bottom of the fifth inning, tallying three more runs. An SCR-I error opened the door for the big inning.

Alysa Greenstreet made the lead hold up as she retired 10 of the final 11 batters she faced. She limited SCR-I to just three hits. She walked three while striking out eight to help the Rams improve to 3-1 on the year.

SCR-I dropped to 3-4 on the season. Small took the loss. She gave up seven hits but did not walk a batter. All three runs in the fifth inning were unearned. Small struck out a season-high nine batters.
