Eleven Under Par Wins Couplesí Tournament at Timber Ridge
Timber Ridge Golf Course held its annual two-couple golf scramble on Sunday, June 4th with 13 teams competing for prizes and bragging rights in an 18-hole contest.
The team of Mike and Jeannie Drummond and Mark Drummond and Jenny Stone took top honors by carding a score of 57, finishing 11 under par.
The team of Shirey and Flanagan won a playoff to finish second. The extended play broke a tie with the team of Grant and Flood after both groups finished the day with scores of 60.
Top honors in the A-flight went to the team of Courtright and Feeney with a score of 65. The team of Stuckey, McCormach and Khahler won the tie breaker to finish second ahead of the team of Frazier and Miller after both groups finished the day with scores of 66.
Tournament organizers also provided several contests on the day. John Parrish won the cash prize for making the longest putt on hole #9. Dennis Robertson narrowly missed an eagle on hole number four, but took solace in winning the cash prize for the second shot closest to the pin.
The closest to the pin contest on hole #3 was won by Dean Bolick in the menís category with a tee shot just 7í3Ē from the hole. Nancy Flood was even closer, ending up just 2í3Ē from the pin to win the womenís contest.
The longest drive contest on hole #2 was won by Greg Stuckey and Karri Feeney.
The golf course continues to host womenís league play each Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m. with menís league being played every Thursday night at 6:00 p.m.
Sunday June 11th will be the first twilight golf outing of the year. Teams will be drawn at 5:00 p.m. with a barbecue supper to follow the nine-hole golf outing.
The following Sunday will be the annual Fatherís Day golf tournament with openings for the two-player scramble in both the morning and afternoon sessions.
