Lady Tigers Rack Up Points, Settle For Third At SC Relays

It was one of the largest point totals of the season but the Scotland County Lady Tigers still had to settle for third place at the Scotland County Relays with 105 points. Clark County won the meet with a total score of 222 followed by Putnam County with 148 points. Knox County finished fourth followed by Schuyler County, North Shelby and Canton.

Ali Fromm took top honors in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 17.51 seconds. She followed that up with a top performance in the 300-meter hurdles in a time of 51.91 seconds.

Sophomore Kirsten Johnston crossed the finish line first in the 400-meter dash in a time of 65.2 seconds.

The Lady Tigers’ 4x800-meter relay team made it four first place finishes for SCR-I.

Melissa Cotton cleared 4’11” in the high jump to take second place. She also finished second in the 1,600-meter run. The Lady Tigers got second-place points from both the 3,200-meter relay and the 400-meter relay teams.

The lone third-place finish came from the 1,600-meter relay team.

Tara Matlock earned fourth place in the long jump ahead of teammate Ashlie Cooper in sixth. Teammates also did well in the 800-meter run where Kelly Cochenour and Ciera Turner finished fourth and fifth.

Angie Bulen earned fourth place in the shot put and finished fifth in the discus while Andrea Shelley was fifth in the 200-meter dash.
