Timber Ridge Kicks Off 2006 Tourney Schedule
A total of 30 golfers took to the course on Sunday, April 23rd to help kick off the 2006 tournament schedule at Timber Ridge Golf Course with a one-person 27-hole marathon.
The competitors played the first nine holes, using a mulligan per hole. The second nine was a scramble format, with each individual playing two golf balls. The event concluded with a round of nine holes played scratch, with no handicap.
It took overtime to decide the championship flight as Kyle Briscoe and Mark Drummond finished the 27-holes tied at 94. Drummond won the playoff to earn first place. Finishing in third was Dave Shalley with a 99 followed by Mike Besler with a round of 100.
Eric Pfieffer won the A-flight with a score of 109. Chipper Harris was one off that pace for second while Bob Newman and Chris Feeney tied for third with scores of 111.
The B-flight also required a playoff as Donnie Middleton and Bud Porter finished tied at 120. Porter won the playoff. Third prize went to Steve Simpson with a 121 and Frank Parsons was fourth with a 122.
Jarod Drummond, Jim Bottorff and Jeff Hale were the winners on the 50/50 contest with the tee shots closest to the pin on hole #3.
