A 12-2 run in the third quarter turned a close game at halftime into an easy victory for Scotland County as the Tigers blew out Knox County 52-33 in the opening round of the North Shelby Tournament on January 16.
The Tigers, the #3 seed in the bracket, rallied from an early deficit to knock off the Eagles with a strong second half.
The Eagles (4-8) jumped out to a 10-4 lead before Bryce Blomme converted a three-point play. Grant Blomme then hit a three pointer to tie the game. SCR-I went ahead for good on a basket by Matt Wickert that made the score 12-10. Three pointers by Lathan Watson and Grant Blomme put the Tigers on top 18-10 to end the first period.
